I mean, enjoying a live EDM party while riding down a 500-foot inflatable slide? It. Is. Ridiculous! In the best way, of course.
Arriving at the scene in McKinley Hill, I had to fight hard to keep my excitement as I heard DJ David Ardiente spinning his mixes. I got there right on time to take photos during daylight.
The registration was busy, the food was hot, the drinks were chilled, music was on blast, and most importantly, the gigantic slide was up and running!
I had to grab a beer first, blew a kiss to the DJ, and danced my way up to the top of the slide! I was absolutely psyched! So was everyone else…
A wristband was given to me that allowed me to cut the lines, but I just had to fall in line anyway… because how else would I be able to enjoy this artificial rain?
I saw so many happy faces! We were all equally excited to ride down this long slide non-stop. Finally, it was my turn to get into position…
And yes, they were right! The ride down never stops! It is so addicting you just have to keep on coming back up. Although if you’re a lightweight when it comes to long walks, you’re probably gonna need some breaks in between because it’s 500 feet up that hill. You at least deserve to chill in between trips. Good thing they had these mini pools, because duh, how could they not?!
People apparently didn’t mind the uphill walk to ride down the slide because I could see a lot of them going for consecutive rounds! Of course I was watching all of this from afar, while I was enjoying a cold drink while on my floater, in my own pool.
I love how well-coordinated the entire party was. There was an endless array of food choices, booze, accessible air-conditioned portalets, spacious baggage counter, even more space to dance with friends, and only the best DJ’s to play the hottest EDM mixes. DJ’s Ace Ramos with MC Paolo, David Ardiente, Travis Monsod, Mars Miranda, Austin, Mermos, Katsy Lee, and the Zombettes all spun for 2 hours each at this 15-hour party.
While it seems that the vision for UltraSlide is to merely look like a high-end Beverly Hills pool party, it is actually an event with a heartfelt mission. The brilliant team that composes LIVE Events and Digital Media Corporation created UltraSlide as a giant water slide concept that will be brought to various cities in the Philippines. It was created as an activity to promote tourism in different cities in the country and as a way to bring people together in a fun-filled experience of not just any other party, but a more engaging one.
The first UltraSlide happened on May 23 in Upper Mckinley Hill. It hasn’t been announced where the next tour will be, but I’m getting the feeling that where the UltraSlide goes, everyone goes. I’m sure I will.
